    Alexander Tatsumi Aaron

    Born Monday, March 5, 2012
    8 lbs, 11 oz, 20.5"

    We are delighted to announce the birth of a baby boy to community members Liz and Ben Aaron.  Alexander's Hebrew name is Asher, and they are calling him Sasha.  Dr. Sam Feinberg of Christie Clinic performed the bris.

    Sasha, Liz, and Aaron are healthy and doing well.

    B'nai Mitzvah's

      Miriam Aviva Ross

      Miriam Aviva Ross will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Sinai Temple. Miriam is the daughter of Richard and Jacqueline Ross and the sister of Benjamin Ross.  She is in the seventh grade at Countryside School.
                  Miriam thanks the rabbi, her B’nai Mitzvah class members, Stephanie Pregent, and her tutor Ray Spooner for helping her with her Bat Mitzvah preparations.  The Ross family looks forward to having you join us in celebrating Miriam’s Bat Mitzvah.

      Weddings & Engagements

        Lauren Weisbaum & AJ Greene

        Lauren Weisbaum, daughter of Jon and Kathryn Weisbaum, is engaged to Marine LCpl A.J. Greene, son of Jim Greene (Indiana) and Pat Doyle (deceased).  Lauren will be graduating from the University of Missouri School of Business in May, while AJ will be deploying for a 6 month tour of duty.  Wedding plans will be finalized early next year.

        Erez and Dana Cohen

        April 1st 2012

        Dana was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Highland Park, IL with her family; parents Robert and Rhonda and younger brothers Jeffrey and Ari.  Dana made aliyah in 2005 and served as a military medic in the IDF until 2007.  Dana graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology at the University of Illinois and is now studying for her Masters of Social Work.  Dana enjoys cooking, reading, movies and spending time with her family and friends.

        Erez was born and raised in Tel Aviv Israel with his family; parents Tzvika and Hava and brothers Tomer and Oren.  Erez served in the IDF from 2001-2004 and graduated from Tel Aviv University with a Bachelors in Political Science.  Half way through his Masters in Diplomacy from TAU Erez decided to take time off to come to the University of Illinois as a Jewish Agency "Shaliach" or Israel fellow of Hillel.  In his three years of service Erez has won multiple awards for his work with the Jewish community and Israel Advocacy.
