Yom Ha'Atzmaut Celebration
Wednesday, April 25, 5:30-7:30 pm
Sinai Temple, 3104 W. Windsor Rd., Champaign
Come celebrate Israel's Independence Day with all your friends in the CU community!
The festivities will begin promptly at 5:30 with a catered, Kosher buffet of all your Israeli favorites: falafel, hummus, Israeli salad, and more...
After dinner, enjoy a talk by special guest Marci Fiedler, Engagement Associate in the Israel Initiatives department of JUF/Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago. Marci was part of a research project called Climate Change, Hydro-conflicts and Human Security (CLICO), which examines the eastern Mediterranean and Northern Sahel region with respect to ties between water resources and conflict. Her work focused on Israel's efforts to deal with a tight water budget in a geo-politically challenged region.
And finally, we'll round out the evening with dancing, singing, flag-waving, and maybe even an Israeli ROCK BAND!!! This event is truly not to be missed!
